OJR & San Diego Sabers Announce Partnership with Elite Ice Analytics
The Ontario Jr Reign and San Diego Sabers are excited to announce a new partnership with Elite Ice Analytics (EIA) for the upcoming Surf & Turf Showcase, set to take place this summer in both San Diego, California and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This collaboration brings added value to all athletes attending the showcase by providing them with individual film breakdown and video training analysis powered by EIA’s cutting-edge technology and staff with strong hockey backgrounds.
Elite Ice Analytics is known for its advanced, data-driven approach to player development. By leveraging video footage and performance metrics, EIA helps athletes identify strengths, pinpoint areas for improvement, and better understand their game from a professional lens. As part of this partnership, every player at the Surf & Turf Showcase will receive personalized film analysis, a service that is typically reserved for elite junior and collegiate players.
EIA’s founder, Cole Beamin, brings a unique perspective as both a former high-level player and a current coach. In addition to running Elite Ice Analytics, Cole is a Film Coach and Skills Coach with Vital Hockey and is entering his third season with the York University Men’s Hockey Team. He was drafted 32nd overall by the Prince George Cougars in the 2016 WHL Draft and spent parts of three seasons playing in the WHL and SJHL. Beamin was coached by OJR coach and GM Jeremy Blumes during the 2021-22 season and the two have recently made the mutually beneficial connection. During his final junior season with the Nipawin Hawks, he served as team captain and was named MVP and Top Defenceman. Cole is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance at York University, combining his competitive hockey background with a strong focus on analytics and player development. In addition to Cole, EIA is home to a stacked roster of coaches, all with pro or college playing experience.
“We’re excited to partner with the Surf & Turf Showcase to bring a fresh layer of development to their camp experience. Our approach– Analyze. Adapt. Achieve.-- empowers players to break down their game film, identify areas for growth, and make real-time adjustments that lead to lasting improvements. It’s about more than just watching video– it’s using it as a tool to think the game, evolve, and ultimately reach the next level.”
-Cole Beamin, Owner, Elite Ice Analytics
The inclusion of EIA’s services enhances the Surf & Turf Showcase’s commitment to providing top-tier development opportunities for players looking to elevate their game. In addition to on-ice sessions and competitive scrimmages, attendees will now leave the showcase with actionable feedback they can use well beyond the event.
This partnership reinforces the Surf & Turf Showcase as one of the most innovative and player-focused events in the junior hockey landscape. For more information and to register, visit ontariojrreign.com/camps.
