Hockey. Education. Life Skills.
The OJR’s primary objective is player development on and off the ice. Our players are 16-20 years old and come from all over the world, playing within the USPHL, United States Premier Hockey League with the objective of playing at a higher Junior, college, or professional level the following seasons.
Founded in 2012, the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) of 2023-2024 is composed of 70 teams, which are geographically diverse. The USPHL has sent more than 5,000 players to college hockey, and more than 3,300 into the NCAA realm of college hockey, since its 2012 founding.
Under the guidance of Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes the OJR have progressed in two years from an expansion team that made the playoffs on the final night of the regular season to contend for the top spot in the Pacific division, With a remarkable combined record of 71-19-1 over the past two seasons, we're proud to be ranked among the top 10 teams in the USPHL, a league with over 60 teams nationwide. In our third season, we won the Pacific division, sweeping the Fresno Monsters, and attended the National Championship competition tournament in Utica, New York. Notably, nearly a third of our roster has progressed to higher levels of Junior, college, or professional hockey. Our organization's primary objective is player development both on and off the ice.
The OJR practice every day, out of Center Ice Arena - 201 South Plum Ave, Ontario, CA, off of Holt, between Sultana and Plum - and then do team workouts in the gym following practice. Individual and or team meetings, video, mindset, and team-building sessions are all part of our players' experience.
Along with developing our on-ice program, another source of pride for our team is our players' off-ice development and involvement in the Inland Empire. Our players volunteer or work in the community on a regular basis, this includes working with the USO, Inland Empire United Way, Huerta del Valle, and our local youth hockey clubs the Junior Reign and Empire as well as many others. We believe these indelible life lessons help our young men grow while helping them improve their future post-secondary and vocational opportunities in the future. Video
Similar to exchange students, our players billet with supportive host families that provide the players a nurturing and stable home life for our student-athletes to perform to the best of their abilities.
Our home games are typically played on the weekends and along with the high-flying, hard-hitting hockey action of the game itself, we often feature local food vendors, local musicians playing during the intermissions, games for the kids, inexpensive admission prices, and free parking!
Our coaches, organization, and community value character, commitment, and accountability, while we all work towards improving each and every day.
