Hometown Hockey: Ryan Howard Joins OJR for 2023-2024 Season

The Ontario Jr. Reign are pleased to announce that Lake Arrowhead, California born center Ryan Howard has signed with the team. Ryan joins the Jr Reign following his standout season with the Empire Hockey Club 18U AA. Ryan scored 30 goals along with 23 assists for a total of 53 points in 63 games played. 

Empire Hockey Club Coach Trevor Wada had high praise for Ryan, saying “We are excited to hear about Ryan Howard signing with the Ontario Jr Reign. He is hard working, tough, and gritty with a surplus of talent. When I think about Ryan this quote comes to mind: if you love what you are doing you will be successful. Ryan loves the game of hockey and we look forward to watching all of the success he will have with the Jr Reign.”

As an Empire Hockey Club graduate, Ryan has spent much of his hockey career playing at Center Ice Arena, even mentioning his affection for the arena saying “I’ve Grown up and played at Center Ice Arena, my whole entire life. I look forward to continuing my hockey career here with great guys and an amazing Organization like the Jr Reign.”

Known for his ferocity on the ice, Ryan weighs in at 6’0” and 196 pounds. Never one to back down from the opposition, he led the Empire Hockey Club in penalty minutes with a whopping 154 PIMS. Prior to last season, Ryan has spent time with multiple other local teams including California Wave 18U AAA, Ontario Jr. Reign 18U AAA, and the Empire Hockey Club 14U AA. 

Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes had this to say about Ryan joining the club, “Ryan loves the game and is willing to do whatever it takes, that mindset is going to serve him well both on and off the ice this season and well into the future.”
